At JT² we work closely with our clients and act for a broad range of business and personal clients. Apart from the more general accountancy services we can also assist you with business development and tax services.
JT² can trace its heritage back to 1888, when James Todd founded a Chartered Accountancy practice in Preston. Over time, the practice expanded to include additional branches in Blackpool, Manchester, Chester and London.
As an international businessman, Mr Todd had dealings inpre-revolutionary Russa and with the Italian and French governments during World War One. The office in Preston still contains a tallboy cabinet which was used by James Todd.
James Todd & Co continued as a partnership well beyond Mr Todd’s death in 1931, merging with ma2 in 2021.
ma2 was established in 1995. Initially led by Tony Mills and Steve Howarth, the Cleveleys based firm quickly developed a reputation as an innovative and client-focused practice, becoming well known across the Fylde Coast.
In 2018, ma2 expanded its operations by acquiring Ian Hewertson & Co, a well-established and highly regarded firm in Blackpool. In 2025, the three offices were combined under the JT² banner - JT² being a clever amalgamation of James Todd & Co and ma2 (well, maybe not that clever!).
Today, we are proud of the history and heritage that have shaped JT², bringing together more than a century of experience, expertise and relationships. While our roots run deep, we remain firmly focused on the future, building on that legacy to continue delivering the personal, forward-thinking service our clients value.
